David B. Walker, Sr. "Dave"

David B. Walker, Sr. of Odenton, MD, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, in Avon Park, FL.  Born on June 7, 1926, in Charleston, WV, to the late Paul Wesley Walker, Sr. and Roxie (George) Walker, he was a veteran of the United States Navy; and a carpenter for over 50 years.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Jane F. Walker, and her parents, Wilbur and Elva Fairchild. 

He is survived by his children: David B. Walker, Jr. and his wife, Kathleen, of Mt. Airy, MD; Mark S. Walker and his wife, Bonnie, of Odenton, MD; and Linda G. McSwain and her husband, Dennis, of Lewes, DE; and by his grandchildren: Kaitlyn J. Walker of Chevy Chase, MD, and Andrew D. Walker of Mt. Airy, MD.  He is also survived by his brother, Merle D. Walker of Port St. Lucie, FL; his wife’s sister, Margaret A. Carey, of Strasburg, VA; and many nieces and nephews, including Larry E. Walker of Lake Placid, FL, who helped care for his Uncle Dave in his last months.  He is also preceded in death by his brother, Paul W. Walker, Jr. 

Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. at 1411 Annapolis Road (Rt. 175E), Odenton, MD 21113 on Saturday, April 15 at 10:30 a.m.  A Celebration of Dave’s Life will follow at 12:00 p.m.  Inurnment will be at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD.  In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children, one of Dave’s favorite charities.  www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/donate.
