Fred Miller did three tours of duty in Vietnam, not three. The reason I know this is (in my presence) he said he was "...about to up number four but then Jean promised to leave me if I did!" Showed he loved the work he did. But he loved Jean more...

My prayers to Jean, Kathy and families. I have know Fred for most of my life so over 40yrs. I grew up as a kid with him and his family every other weekend. It was a trip I all ways wanted to make. Fred to me is like I had a second Father. I could always go to him for help or questions when I had them. One of his favorite subjects he like to talk to me about was American History. I have many great memories over his house and on Holidays. He will be missed by me, but I know I will see him again some day. God Bless Jean, Kathy, Shane and every else who knows him.

Officer Fred Miller Sr. was the "Desk Supervisor" at the Southwest District when I started my career with the Baltimore Police Department in 1991. He was a "no nonsense" man who didn't hold his tongue for anyone. He told you what you needed to hear - not what you wanted to hear. I appreciated him for who he was, and for all the much-deserved tongue lashings he gave me.
As I look at the Police Department today, I realize that our biggest problem is that we don't have more "Fred Millers".

Dear Sweet Jean, You and Fred have been our friends for over forty years; from the days when we all lived at Crain CT. Apts. with you on the third floor and we were on the ground floor. Time and distance has not diminished our friendship, it has only grown stronger through the years through Christ, Jesus. We will miss Fred but we know, as you do, that he is not lost to God, and we will all see him again on the other side. In the mean time, though, there is grief and we pray for you, we weep with you and we love you. God keep you in His Care in the coming days.

Ever since I was a little girl, I looked up to my older brothers as they provided guidance, support and love. My heart is heavy now for our family's loss of one of the best men, dear sweet Fred. My prayers to Jean, Kathy and our family at this difficult time.

Fred was my brother in-law. It's been years since we were together physically, but together in spirit . My wife and Jean being twins, we keep up with what was going on with both families. Fred suffered for so long. My prayers to Jean, Cathy and the family, for the comfort and grace that only Jesus can give. God's blessing on you and yours
