CJ- you were such an amazing man! I will always remember the way you welcomed me to OEL and you sharing your delicious lunches with me. You made me feel like an instant friend of yours although we were really strangers at the time! I missed you when you retired. The world has lost a great person. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to meet you and come to know you as a friend.... Sheila

What a remarkable human being!!! What a remarkable life, one a movie could be made about, seriously. When CJ retired he shared the most inspirational email I’ve ever read about his life’s journey and encouraging words to never to give up. CJ lit up the entire atmosphere anytime he was near. He had an amazing gift of making others feel special. I was truly blessed just to be in his presence which always came with a lovely smile and caring chat. He was always present at every office event/celebration and completely spoiled us with delicious Indian dishes and his famous salsa dip. Amazing privilege of being his colleague for many years. I still miss and will ALWAYS remember him! To CJ’s dear wife and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. May your loved one, and my dear colleague and friend, Chandrakant J. Patel’s, light, joyous spirt and beautiful memories live in our hearts forever.

I was so saddened to hear of CJ's passing. He was always so kind and funny. When he learned I was a vegetarian who loved Indian food, he always made a point to bring his homemade vegetarian dishes to office parties and it was always wonderful. The world needs more CJs. I'm so sorry for your loss.

CJ was a great asset to our office. We often talk of his kindness and the little things that he did to encourage others. I have a bow tie that he gave me. He will be missed.
