William Davidson Jr. Obituary

William (Bill) Lawrence Davidson Jr, 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 9, 2022.  Bill is survived by his wife Patricia Ann Davidson, brother James Lee Davidson (spouse Brenda Cooper Davidson), children Anne Marie Jobmann (spouse Bradley James Jobmann), Christopher Wesley Davidson, and grandchildren Natalie Victoria Davidson, Kyle Bradley Jobmann, and Tabitha Rose Davidson.

Bill was born on July 4, 1944 in Easton Maryland to lifelong Easton residents William “Mose” and Frances Davidson.  Bill attended Easton High school, class of 1962 and received an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Strayer Business College in 1969.  After high school, Bill enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and received an honorable discharge as rank Sergeant.  While in the Marines, Bill was part of the Mediterranean cruise task force with tours in France, Italy, Spain, and Greece.  For his final deployment, he was stationed as a security guard at the National Security Agency (NSA) - a very prestigious position held by only a few hundred Marines in total.

After meeting at Strayer Business College, Bill and Patricia married and resided in Riverdale, Maryland and later moved to Gambrills, Maryland, where they grew their family for most of their 53 years of marriage.  Bill worked at the Washington Gas & Light Co. in the Cash Management and Disbursement division of the Treasurer's office.  He ended his 30 year career as Director of the division.   Upon retirement from the Washington Gas & Light Co in 1999, Bill started his second career as the beverage cart attendant at Hog Neck Golf Course, for which he was considered, by many, as the "star" attraction of the course.  He enjoyed this position for 20 years and only gave it up due to the COVID-pandemic shutdown.

Bill was known by everyone for his quick wit, all around cheerful nature, and his distinctive deep voice.  Bill was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone he met.  In his early years, Bill enjoyed bowling, white water rafting, and the beach.  During his later years, golf became his primary hobby, allowing him to travel to his second home in Cape Coral, Florida, and playing up and down the East and Gulf coast.  The highlight of his golf travels took him to play in Ireland and Scotland.

The memorial service to honor Bill's life will be held on June 16, 2022 at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. in Odenton, MD from 1pm (visitation at noon).  His family will be present to welcome loved ones and friends.

In lieu of flowers, Bill has requested donations be made to the following organizations that were very special to him:  Johns Hopkins Children’s Center (750 E.
