We are saddened to announce the passing of Ursula Ann Brett of Severn, Maryland. Ursula died at 81 years old on August 4th, 2023 with her loving husband and daughter by her side. Ursula was born on June 15th, 1942 to Flavian and Getrude Schoenbachler in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the youngest of four sisters, Susan, Flavia and Marie. She grew up in Virginia and Florida. Ursula graduated from Hollywood High School in 1961. While attending a college dance in Washington DC, Ursula met Allan Brett, an English graphic artist for The Washington Post. They were married in 1970 and bought their first house in Severn, Maryland, where they settled and raised their family. Ursula worked as a legal secretary at The National Canners Association in Washington, DC until she had her daughter, Julie. She and her husband started a home day center called "Little Pals Day Care Center." After a few years, Ursula worked as a director for the YMCA and retired in 2003. Ursula was a dedicated mother and wife. She was gentle, kind, caring of others, and had an amazing sense of humor. She was a devout Catholic and instilled the love of God everyday in her actions with her family and friends. She was supportive and encouraging of her husband and daughter. Ursula was predeceased by her father, mother and sister, Susan. She is survived by her husband Allan and her daughter Julie. She will be dearly missed.
Ursula's viewing will be held on Sunday, August 13th from 2-6 pm at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113. There will be a funeral mass on Monday, August 14th at 11am at St. Bernadette's Church 801 Stevenson Road, Severn, MD 21144 followed by her burial at Glen Haven Memorial Park Cemetery 7215 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.
