On January 11, 2022, Thomas “Tom” J. Yeager passed away at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was 63. Born in Philadelphia, Tom was raised in Bowie and lived in Odenton for the past 25 years. He was a skilled HVAC mechanic and member of Steamfitters Local 602.
Tom was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed family vacations at the beach on the Outer Banks, big family dinners and was always ready to lend a helping hand to family members. He liked to travel, especially going on road trips with his wife Mary, often stopping at iconic ballparks to enjoy a baseball game and at gaming resorts to try his luck at the tables. In his younger days, Tom was a talented drummer, performing at nightclubs with his band the Xcels and later with the Rock Kings. To relax he liked having a beer and watching a game with his friends at Perry’s Restaurant.
Tom is survived by his wife of 10 years, Mary Yeager (nee Walsh); his mother Patricia Yeager; his daughter Heather A. Toepfer and son Ryan J. Yeager; his siblings Kurt Yeager, James Yeager, Jennifer McHose and Amy Zwinge; and his grandchildren Bennett Toepfer (“his boy”), Chloe Atwood and Piper Atwood. Tom is predeceased by his father Richard J. Yeager.
There will be a Celebration of Life gathering at Perry’s Restaurant in Odenton at 6pm on Tuesday January 18th.
