Master of fine arts, interior designer, small business owner, entrepreneur, dear daughter, sister, cousin, friend, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-aunt. Tarini held many roles and wore many hats. She was married from August 13, 1966, till his passing November 2, 2010, to Drupad Batuklal Desai. They both loved time with family and friends, giving back to the community, and traveling all around the world.
Tarini is survived by her two children, Apurva Desai and Parag Desai, her daughter-in-law (wife of Apurva) Urvi Patel Desai, and her grandson, Rithik Desai. Apurva, Urvi and Rithik reside in Vienna, VA and Parag makes his home in Nashville, TN. She is also survived by her older brother Chandresh (Meena) Desai; brothers-in-law Harshad (Jayshree) Desai, Dushyant (Sachala) Desai, and Janak (Shefali) Desai; and many beloved cousins, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, and grand-nieces.
Tarini was born in Ahmedabad, a daughter of Bansirao and Sushila Desai, and the youngest of their four children. She and her family moved to Bombay (Mumbai) when she was a young child, so she spent most of her youth in that dynamic city before moving to the United States to continue her education, marry Drupad, and ultimately settle here permanently.
