Soon Ja Leffel

Soon Ja Leffel of Severn, MD, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the Sterling Care Hillhaven Assisted Living in Adelphi, MD where she was recuperating from multiple medical conditions. She was 88. Sue was born on November 8, 1935, in South Korea and was the daughter of the late Change Bae Kim and Soon Boon Kim.

Sue touched many lives through her lifetime with her kindness, generosity, and empathy.  She was a devout Christian and trusted friend who always tried to help others.   Sue cherished children and worked many years teaching at a daycare, and was a tremendous, positive influence helping to raise her granddaughters.  She loved ceramics, arts and crafts, gardening, and studying the bible.  She often volunteered her time to her church and to teaching ceramic classes at Fort Meade.

Sue is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, James Leffel, Sr.; loving son, Bob Leffel; three cherished granddaughters, Jennifer Smith, Nico and Rachel Leffel; she is preceded in death by her son, James Leffel, Jr., brother, Gui bong Kim, and three sisters, Kyong Rae Han, Gui Soon Kim and Gui Hee Kim.

The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Memorial Service will start at 12:00pm
