Sheryl Pack Obituary

Sheryl Ellyn Pack (Gibson), 74 years old, passed away peacefully on Thursday September 30th, 2021 at home surrounded by her family.

Sheryl, or Sherry as she was known to her family and friends, was born October 1st, 1946 in Jordan, Montana. Her childhood years were spent on a ranch there with her 4 siblings, 3 sisters and 1 brother. It was there that she developed a love for horses. She spent many hours in her childhood years riding them .They moved to Miles City a few years later . Miles City, Montana is where Sherry met the love of her life, Pete, in the summer of 1964. They were married in December of ‘64 and were married for almost 57 years. During that time, Sherry and Pete raised 2 boys, Terry Lee and Kelly Wayne. The boys were born in Florida and eventually the family moved to Maryland, where they’ve lived for the last 50 years. During the years her sons were growing up, the house was a magnet for a lot of their friends. Most of them called her Mom.

Sherry lived for her family and loved every minute she was able to spend with them. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren loved her more than anything. Her grandkids affectionately referred to her as Nanny. She was a staple at every sporting event and life event each one of them experienced over the years. Oftentimes, this meant being in multiple places over the course of the same day. But she always found a way to make it work. Sherry was very well known in the family and outside the family for baking the most amazing chocolate chip cookies you’d ever eaten. While she may have moved away from Montana many years ago, part of her heart remained there. She traveled there several times over the years to spend time with her family that still lived there.

Sherry was preceded in passing by her parents, Randall Gibson and Shirley Gibson. Also by her siblings Rosemary Mayotte, Laurie Gibson and Nevin Gibson. Sherry is survived by her husband of 56 years, Pete. Also by her two sons, Terry Pack of Odenton and Kelly Pack (Kristy) of Pasadena. Her Grandchildren, Dalton Pack, Fletcher Pack, Eden Pack, Tanner Pack and Riley Pack. Her great grandchildren, Braelynn Pack, Croix Pack and Easton Pack. Her sister, Gayle McEwen. She’s also survived by many family members in Montana, Virginia, Florida, Texas, California and other states. Last but not least, she leaves behind her 4 legged child, Daisy, who was her constant companion in the last year of her life…20 years ago, Sherry was given a new lease on life by being the recipient of a lung transplant at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She made the most of the additional years she was blessed with.
