Salil Kumar Bhattacharya

Salil Kumar Bhattacharya a resident of Ellicott City, passed away on Monday, September 7th, 2020 at his home. Salil was born on February 5th, 1944 in Bhatpara, India and was the son of the late Susil Bhattacharya and Sarogini Bhattacharya. Salil attended high school in Bhatpara, India and then went on to university at Hooghly Mohasin College in India and Pantnagar University.  Salil then attended Ohio Northern university. He proudly earned a bachelor’s degree from each of the colleges. He worked in various industries and fields finally working and retiring as an Aeronautical Engineer for the United States Department of Defense. 

 Salil is survived by his beloved wife Donna Bhattacharya ; his three loving children, David, Melanie, and Joshua; his son in law Kevin; his sisters Minati, Pronti, Reba; and two loving granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Leah who were the joy of his life. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mira and Dhira. Salil was the caring owner to his cats Bella and Smokey, and his Dog Kalumia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A small private service will be held at the families request.
