Rose Marie Rice Obituary

Rose Marie Rice, a resident of Odenton, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the age of 83. Born on February 19, 1938 in Christiansburg VA, she was the daughter of the late William T. Lawrence and Virginia Roop.

Rose Marie was raised in Portsmouth, Virginia, and graduated from Longwood University in Farmville in 1960. She was a dedicated homemaker and teacher, treasuring family life and close friendships. Active in church circles, she also admired nature, and worked in support of causes for justice and peace in the world.

Rose Marie is preceded in death by her husband Robert James Rice. She is survived by her two loving sons, James Kevin Rice and wife, Karin of Severna Park MD and James Lawrence Rice and wife, Carrie of Richmond VA; six cherished grandchildren, Ella, Bobby, Caroline, Emily, Margaret, and Lucy; and her faithful granddog Toby.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christian Community Presbyterian Church,

A Memorial Service will be held there at a future date.
