Rebecca "Becky" Clark Obituary

Rebecca Louise Clark of Odenton, MD, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 5, 2019. She was 56. Becky was born on August 31, 1962 in Philadelphia, PA and was the daughter of the late George Clark and Doreen Arnold Clark.

Becky spent her early years in Cherry Hill, NJ where she attended Elementary and Middle School. She moved with her parents to Dubuque Iowa and finished her K-12 education at Dubuque High School where she was an active member of the Marching Band. She went on to attend Iowa State University where she received her Master’s Degree.

Becky began her civil service career supporting the U.S. Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) from 1986- 1989 when she joined Naval Weapon Station, Seal Beach California. She transitioned from a supporting role to a direct involvement with SSP in 1989 when she was reassigned to Fleet Ballistic Missile Launcher System in Sunnyvale, California as a Technical Representative. After six years (1995) with the team, she transferred to Strategic Systems Program Headquarters in Washington, D.C., where she was assigned to the Missile Branch. She immediately had a major impact on the program as she worked in the Missile Logistics Facilities and Missile Production Units bring additional expertise to the team. Becky’s last assignment was the Production Engineering Unit Lead in 2011. She was critical to the success of D5LE development and execution. Becky had a passion for leading and mentoring people at SSP, field activities, and the prime contractor. She dedicated her work life to ensuring the continued development of the talented personnel within the organization. SSP will reap the benefits of her efforts in the years to come. Becky was passionate about her team and treated them as family. She shared their successes and failures and encouraged them to balance work and family life, leaving a legacy at SSP that will transcend generations.

Becky was an avid reader and loved going to the movies. She loved discussing the latest releases with her nieces and nephews and their spouses.

Becky spent most of her leisure time over the past 22 years with her cherished longtime companion Patton. They travelled extensively together and did many of the everyday things together that best friends do.

Becky is survived by her loving brother, Andrew Clark of Niwot, CO; beloved sister, Victoria Grillo (William) of Mt. Laurel, NJ; devoted niece, Kathleen Trefsgar (Brooks) of Lebanon, PA; cherished nephew, William Grillo III (Laura) of Mt. Laurel, NJ; two adorable grand-nephews, Brooks and Harris and good friend, Robert Patton of Odenton, MD.

The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113 on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Memorial Service will begin at 12:00 pm. Interment will be private.
