Mr. Phuoc Huu Nguyen was born on January 20, 1954 in Vietnam. Phuoc bravely served as a Lieutenant in the South Vietnamese Military and was a prisoner of war for almost 10 years. He then migrated to the United States in 1996 with his wife and two children in search of a better life. He has been a resident of Odenton, Maryland since 2004. He was a carpenter by trade and worked for many years at Powerconn Corporation in Severn. He retired in 2024. On September 15, 2024, Phuoc Huu Nguyen passed away peacefully at home at the age of seventy.
Phuoc possessed an artistic nature which revealed itself in music, painting, photography, and poetry. A musician, he loved to play the piano and the guitar. He wrote his own music and loved to sing. An artist, he loved to draw, paint, and photograph Earth’s natural beauty, a talent he passed along to his son. Phuoc was a gifted tailor and would design fashionable clothing. He also wrote beautiful poetry, a talent his daughter inherited. Phuoc liked to go camping and was a supporter of the Boy Scouts, having been a Boy Scout Master himself. Most especially, he loved to spend time with his family. His selfless spirit, infectious humor, and unwavering determination left an enduring legacy in the hearts of all who knew him.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of thirty-six years Hanh Thi Le; daughter Thuy Vy Nguyen Lyn-Kew (spouse James) and son Paul Phuoc Vy Nguyen; his caring siblings Van Nguyen and Ninh Nguyen (spouse Phuong); and his cherished grand-daughter Vivyen Xuan Lyn-Kew. Phuoc was predeceased by his parents and two brothers.
A Buddhist service will be held on Saturday, September 28th starting at 9 AM and concluding at 1:00 PM.
