Narendra B. Oza went to Akshardham (Heaven) at the age of 83. He was born in Dohlka, India. He received his Ph.D in Biochemistry at HaffKine Institute in Mumbai. He left India in 1965 to do his post-doctoral work at the University of Chicago School of Medicine. He was later joined by his wife and daughter. He was the first Oza from his family to leave India. He went on to have a distinguished academic career with over 100 publications in the cardio-renal field. This research was the foundation for the development of a class of therapeutic drugs called ACE inhibitors (for high blood pressure). His fondest memories were at Boston University School of Medicine where he spent the majority of his distinguished career.
He ensured that not only would he change the life of his immediate family but then went on to bring both his brothers and parents to the United States, paving the way for multiple generations to follow their dreams as he did.
He left on his own terms at home, comfortably in his bedroom with family by his side.
He is survived by his wife, daughter, son, daughter in law, and six grandsons.
