Michael E. Rampersaud at the age of 72 years rose to ascension as the sunset on the evening of February 22nd, 2021 at Montgomery General Hospital in Olney MD where he fought and ended a gallant battle against diabetes, a battle that lasted 20 years.
Michael E. Rampersaud was the husband of Jeanette Rampersaud, father of Michael E. Rampersaud Jr, Timothy N. Rampersaud and John S. Rampersaud. Grandfather to his precious angels Nicholas Rampersaud and Nathan Rampersaud. Father-in-law to Frances Mae Rampersaud and Candace Rampersaud
Michael was born on December 16th 1948 to Walter and Ethel Rampersaud of Cumberland Village, Guyana. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, his son John Rampersaud and his brother Walter Rampersaud Jr. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and daughter-in-laws: along with his siblings: Edward Rampersaud, Grace Rampersaud, Gloria Matadial, Patricia Megill, Desiree Rampersaud and Beatrice Romalho.
Michael attended Cumberland Primary and Burbice Educational Institute. He taught at Bohemia and Reliance Primary Schools. Michael also worked for GUYSUCO at Rose Hall Canjie Sugar Estate as a field supervisor.
On April 17th, 1974, Michael married the love of his life Jeanette. Out of this union came three wonderful sons Michael, Timothy and John. His love for his family was unbreakable doing whatever it took to insure they were provided for and never went without.
Michael moved to the United States in October 1981 to seek a better life for his family. He was employed by Fannie Mae from 1982 to 2005 where through hard work and determination he climbed the corporate ladder to become the Manager of Procurement. While working at Fannie Mae, Michael attended Montgomery College and obtained his Associate Degree. Michael also pursued his bachelors degree in Health Finance at Columbia Union College.
Some of his best qualities were: his hard-working nature, his love for his family, his love for his puppies (Debo, Maximus, Buddy and Bailey). His love for music, humor and his soul defined him as the person we all knew and loved.
Michael is survived by a wealth of family and a bounty of friends. He fought a brave fight for all of us and though it is easy to say that he left us far too soon, if you held Michael in your heart, the way he held his loved ones, his memory will forever live on.
