Margie was born February 14, 1937. A beautiful Valentine’s Day baby.
The daughter of Ella curry. She was a mother of four children. She had 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and two Great Great grandchildren.
She was born in Wilmington, North Carolina, her hometown. Growing up in Wilmington, she was surrounded by family. She attended and graduated from Williston industrial High School. Later in life she moved to Brooklyn, New York and attended Adelphi business school. Brooklyn is where she spent many years surrounded by family, and at some point, had two sisters on the same street.
She leaves behind her Brother Walter Glaspie, and the late James Glaspie Sr., Sisters Annabelle Jones, Eva Williams, Margaret Curry, Bernice Hamilton and Lorraine Velasquez.
She was a member of Greater Bright Light Baptist Church for many years. During her time spent at church she was a member of the 8 o’clock mass choir, and Pastor Aid Society, where Reverend HG Chapman was the pastor. At her church, she was loved by all.
Upon returning to Wilmington and re-joined Macedonia Baptist Church, where Rev. Terry L. Henry is Pastor.
Grandma or mom: your love, your patience, your understanding, your wisdom and your amazing sense of humor will live on inside us forever. You Have given us gifts that are more precious than anything in this world. You will always live in our hearts.
