On Friday October 29, 2021, Kokilaben Patel, a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother passed away peacefully in Rockville, MD. Kokila is survived by her devoted husband, Vinu and their children Samir and Sneha and her siblings Hemonsuroy and Ramilaben. She is also survived by three granddaughters, Ariana, Zehna, and Anaya, all of whom brought great joy to her later years.
Kokila was born on August 28, 1948 in Nadiad, Gujrat, India to Manibhai and Dhirajben Patel. She received a Bachelor of Arts from her hometown college. After working a couple years, she met Vinu and they were married in 1974. Kokila moved to the US in 1975 and her and Vinu settled in the Washington, DC area.
Kokila dedicated her life to raising her children and grandchildren. She also consistently helped her extended family members and her home was always open to everyone. She loved to cook and feed people. Kokila enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, Indian TV serials and Bollywood movies. She loved to travel, see new places, and she enjoyed socializing. She always made friends wherever she went.
For the past two and a half years, Kokila battled neuroendocrine cancer. She endured more than anyone should ever have to in life, she was strong and fought hard for as long as she could. She will be missed dearly by all that knew her.
Her memorial service will be held at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory @ 1411 Annapolis Rd, in Odenton, MD.
