Joyce Grace (Pellar) Putnam

Mrs. Joyce G. Putnam, aged 93 (December 16, 1929 to October 21, 2023) longtime resident of Bowie, Maryland by natural causes. Born at the start of the Great Depression, Mrs. Putnam’s passing ended a long life as a devoted wife and mother that spanned decades of change in America.

After WWII and college, she entered the technical workforce with Vitamin Products Company, one of the first leaders in organic vitamin supplements decades before they became commonplace. Her work at Vitamin Products led to a lifelong love of nutrition guided by the philosophy “Let food be thy medicine, and let medicine be thy food.”

Preceded by her late husband, Mr. Wayne A. Putnam of 55 years; she is survived by her only child, Mr. Lee W. Putnam and his wife, Ucheoma Akobundu, of Woodbridge, Virginia.
