Joseph Moore Obituary

On May 7th, Joseph M. Moore of Severn passed away. Devoted father of Andrew and Jason Moore (Maryland); loving son of Connie Stewart and her husband Bruce (Illinois); beloved brother of Wendy Dawson (Illinois), Sharon Conlee and husband Mark (Illinois), Michele Stevenson and husband Bill (Maryland) and Mary Pate (Texas); cherished grandfather of Lelina Moore; caring nephew of Dan Moore (Florida) and Jackie Mulvihill (Iowa). He is also survived by 9 nephews and 3 nieces.  Joe was predeceased by his father Edward Moore and his infant sister Teresa Moore.

Joe received his Bachelor of Science at Towson University where he was affectionately known by his nickname “Easy”.  He worked for Safeway for 46 years.  Joe enjoyed golfing, skiing and trips to the beach.  He loved music and reciting lyrics.  Some of his favorite musicians were the Beatles, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Jimmy Buffet, Chicago, Jimmy Hendricks and Tom Petty, just to name a few.   An avid sports fan, he supported the Redskins, the Nationals and the University Terrapin basketball team.  Joe enjoyed spending time with his friends and never missed the annual camping trip at Deep Creek or going to Preakness.

With his magnetic energy, and his love of people, you couldn’t stay mad at Joe for long. He could appreciate a good joke or a good debate. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
