Jonathan "JJ" E. Jones Obituary

Jonathan Emmanuel Jones, age 51, of Odenton, MD passed away surrounded by loving family at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD on December 18, 2020 after battling an extended illness. Jonathan was born June 21, 1969 in Washington, DC to John I. Jones and the late Sharon Robinson.

He graduated in 1988 from Albert Einstein High School in Kensington, MD.  After graduation Jonathan proudly served in the United States Army National Guard.  He later attended Frostburg State University in Maryland where he earned his Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science degree in 1998 and 2002.  He was employed as a Facility Director with The Maryland- National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince Georges County, Department of Parks and Recreation.  

He was loved by many and his spirit will be missed for years to come.  He was a member of the KXZ Fraternity.  He enjoyed all outdoor activities but showed great passion for hunting, fishing, and barbecuing with friends and family, especially with his daughter.

Jonathan is survived by his wife Maria Gregorio Jones, his daughter Harley Elizabeth Jones, his father John I Jones and a multitude of family and friends. 

Jonathan is preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Robinson Jones and his grandparents, Thelma and Sonny Robinson and Vera and Daniel Jones.

Due to COVID-19, a celebration of life will be planned for Spring 2021.
