Obituary
On August 11, 2023, John James Genova Sr. passed away at the age of 80. Born in Niagra Falls, New York, he lived in Odenton for the past 5 years, and previously resided in North Carolina. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. John worked as the Senior Vice President of Purchasing & Marketing for Sysco Corporate for many years. He later became a Co-founder and Director for ITI (currently Kinexo) and most recently the Director of Redistribution for MBM Corporation. When he wasn’t spending time on the golf course, John also enjoyed watching movies with his wife Linda. Most especially, he appreciated sharing a good meal with his family and friends, or ice cream with his grandchildren.
John was the devoted husband of Linda Genova (nee Atha); beloved father of John J. Genova Jr., James J. Genova, David Genova, Angela Gilliland, and the late Jerry Genova; loving brother of Anthony Genova and the late Jerry and Joseph Genova; cherished grandfather of James Genova Jr., Kayleigh Genova, Matthew Genova, Evan Gilliland, Kate Gilliland, Gabriela Woodhull, Jarrett Genova, Lillian Genova, and Joseph Genova; adoring great-grandfather of Sophia and Arielle Genova.
