John Paul Midolo, Jr., a resident of Severn, MD, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at his home. He was 56 years old. John was born on May 21, 1963, in Washington, D.C., greeted by a host of family, friends, salami, and red wine. He was the son of Patricia Ann (Guarino) and the late John Paul Midolo, Sr.
John was a complex man who lived a simple life, known for his wry sense of humor and faithful work ethic. He served in the U.S. Army, including a brief tour in South Korea. John was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 26 (or “I Bowl Every Wednesday,” as he liked to call it). While he enjoyed NASCAR, his love for the Washington Redskins was unparalleled. To say he liked to cook would be an understatement. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the kitchen as well as collecting (and sharing) spicy hot sauces. He also loved spending time with his pet cockatiels. John was a loving son, devoted husband, and caring stepdad.
He once described his life’s journey as a pathway from the “Highway to Hell” to the “Stairway to Heaven.”
John is survived by his beloved wife, Claudette Odeyale of Severn, MD; loving daughter, Elani Joy Odeyale Elliott (Ryan) of Atlanta, GA; devoted sister, Teresa Ann Midolo; and cherished brother, Steven, Midolo.
