James Dewey Williamson

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of James Dewey Williamson, a beloved resident of Savage, MD.  Dewey passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025 at the age of 83.

Born on May 28, 1941 in Danville, Virginia, Dewey was the son of the late James Andrew Williamson and Blanche Ophelia (nee Henderson) Williamson.  His family relocated to Savage, MD in 1942, where Dewey would spend the majority of his life.

Dewey's career at the NSA spanned from 1959 to 2004, beginning as a Computer Operator and culminating as a Software Development/Systems Manager.  He also proudly served in the Maryland National Guard from 1963 to 1969.  A passionate NASCAR fan since 1969, Dewey's enthusiasm for the sport was well-known.

Dewey is survived by his three loving children; Lisa Greenfield of Hyattsville, Mitzi Williamson of Laurel, and Richard Williamson (wife Kelly) of Severna Park, along with five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  For more information or to post condolences, please visit www.donaldsonfuneralhomes.com.  At this time, no services are scheduled.
