Helen Frances (Thompson) Lanham

On April 4, 2022, Helen Frances Lanham (nee Thompson)  of Odenton, Md. passed away at Morning Side House of Friendship surrounded by her loving family. She was 83 years old. She was the daughter of the late William and Lillian (Kephart) Thompson of Edgewater, Md. On April 19, 1958 she married James (Buck) Lanham who preceded her in death (2001). She is survived by 3 sons; James, Jr. (Rhonda), Kenneth(Tammy) and Daniel (Mary)and  two adopted children; Trevor and Crystal. She is preceded in death by her son William  and survived by his wife Cheryl. She had one brother, William Thompson of Edgewater, Md. who passed  away June 2015. Preceded in death also by two grandchildren, Amy Marie and Kenneth, Jr. She leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She fostered 56 children in 15 years as a Foster Parent in Prince Georges County. She was actively involved serving as President of "The Foster Parent Association" for 7 years and on Board of Directors for 4 years. She and her husband were honored as "Foster Parent of the Year" three times and recognized in the county as "Outstanding Foster Parents"

The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, Md. 21113 on Monday, April 11, 2022 from 6-8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in  St. Joseph Catholic Church, Odenton on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 10:30 AM.

Entombment, Ft. Lincoln Cemetery following the Mass of Christian Burial.

No Procession to the Cemetery. Those wishing to participate at the cemetery will gather at the grave space 12:30 PM.
