Harriett E. Sampson, 80, was born August 14, 1942, to the union of  Harrison Nelson and Lillie Pearl Nelson in Chattanooga, TN. Harriett passed away peacefully early Sunday morning October 2, 2022, of complications from Alzheimer’s Disease. Despite her illness, Harriett’s sweet spirit remained present and strong, and was loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by her mother Lillie Pearl Nelson, father Harrison Nelson, sister Rhonda Faye Nelson, brother Edwin Nelson, and brother Clevant Nelson.

Harriett graduated from Howard High School (Chattanooga, TN) in 1960. Harriett enjoyed her family, extended family and friends. Her bubbly personality was infectious and she was the life of the party.  She loved to dance and welcomed any opportunity to strut her stuff.  Harriett was an amazing cook; her natural talent of cooking was astonishing.  She loved to prepare delicious meals for her family and friends. Harriett was always willing to share her knowledge and craft of cooking with anyone who was eager to learn.
