Gloria Mary Almes

On August 5, 2024, Gloria Almes passed away peacefully at home at the age of 82. Beloved wife of 61 years to Thomas Almes; devoted mom of Troy Almes (wife Valerie) and the late Gary Almes (wife Denise "Marci"); loving sister of Maureen Wilkens and the late June Conway; cherished grandmother of Wayne Rix, Chris Shaffer, Scott Almes, Kyle Almes, Vanessa Knight, and Chase Almes; and great-grandmother of Aislyn Shaffer, Emerson Shaffer, Archer Almes, and Ryker Rix.

Gloria was born in England.  She met Tom, a handsome Air Force airman stationed there. They were married and together they were stationed in many places such as Germany, Texas, Florida, New York, and eventually settling in Maryland. They were residents of Odenton since 1987. Gloria belonged to the British Wives Club and would often travel to England with her husband to visit her family and to Pennsylvania to visit with his family. In addition to traveling, she enjoyed spending time with her family and her friends.
