On the evening of July 30, 2022, Dr. Natwarlal (“Natu”) B. Shah peacefully passed away, surrounded closely by many of his family members.
Dr. Shah is survived by his daughter Smita, son-in-law Ketankumar Patel, grandchildren Shivani and Amir; his eldest son Paresh, daughter-in-law Eliza, grandchildren Hira, Tara, Kiran, and Mareen; his youngest son Pragnesh, daughter-in-law Neeta, his grandson Kian; and his extended family in India. Dr. Shah was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-two years, Pushpa, who passed away 13 months ago.
He was born in Halol, India and emigrated to the USA in 1966. After some time in Washington, D.C. he settled in Maryland suburbs near Baltimore and Annapolis.
Many knew Dr. Shah for his selfless dedication as a loving pediatrician caring for tens of thousands of babies, kids, families, and friends. His practice spanned nearly 35 years, in the communities of Gambrills and Crofton, Maryland and many surrounding areas. His love and support of his community also extended to assisting numerous charitable organizations focused on food relief and disadvantaged women.
Dr. Shah centered his life around his core values of taking care of others, doing the right thing, and perseverance. His warmth, generosity and big smile will be missed by many.
