Dorothy W. Anderson (Dean)
Sadly, on April 23, 2022, Dorothy was called home by our Heavenly Father after a long battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her late husband Daniel W. Dean, Jr., loving daughter Maria A. Adams, loving Grandson Billy Vacek, and her parents Joseph and Ida Wheeler.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Gary W. Anderson, children Theresa Winkelmeyer (Ralph), Rose Harrell (Rodney), Danny Dean (Becky), Kevin Dean (Terri); son-in-law Keith Adams; sisters Pat Culbert (late Richard), Betty Wheeler, Martha Holshue (Ed), Joseph Wheeler (Judy), Mother-in-Law Dorothy Anderson, Sister-in-Law Nancy Alley (Dean), 10 grandchildren Amy Mejia (Kevin), Cheyenne Winkelmeyer, Robert Hodges (Cheri), Greg Harrell (Toni), Keith Harrell, Steven Vacek (Elissa), Chris Dean (Melinda), Danielle Dean, Kevin P. Dean, Virginia Dean, 13 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, her many extended family members, and 2 cats Holly and Berry.
Dorothy was a life-long resident of Jessup, MD where she and her late husband Danny raised their 5 children. She resided in Mt. Airy with her husband Gary. Dorothy loved being active in the community of Jessup, the Jessup Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and Ladies Auxiliary to the Anne Arundel Volunteer Firefighters Association where she was a proud member for 50 years, and the Lisbon Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She retired from NSA before moving into the medical field where she took care of the elderly. Dorothy was full of life. She loved spending time at her cabin in WV, traveling, camping, baking beautiful cakes, spending time with her family.
