It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris Geraldine Foster, lovingly known to all as “Memaw,” who passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024, at UPMC Western Maryland Hospital at the age of 70. Doris was a longtime resident of Odenton, MD, and Hyndman, PA. Born on September 27, 1954, to the late Bessie Agnes Tyler and Chester Earl Spears, Doris touched the lives of everyone she met with her warmth, generosity, and passion for life.
Doris spent over 20 years as a devoted hair stylist, bringing both beauty and confidence to countless clients. She was known for her work ethic, her big heart, and her ability to make anyone feel at ease in her presence. Outside of work, Doris was a woman who truly lived life to the fullest. Whether she was soaking up the sun, cruising in one of her beloved cars—a white Camaro, a black fastback, or her cherished red IROC—she embraced every moment with joy and enthusiasm. Doris was never afraid to roll up her sleeves and get her hands dirty, whether working on cars or in the yard.
Doris was a loving and devoted wife to her husband of 55 years, Robert Stevens Foster, and a proud and caring mother to her six children: Bobby Ray Foster, Kenneth Lee Foster, Doris Deanna Clark, Brittany Nichole Spears, Agnes Dawn Geer. and Mellisica Kay Kilgore. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Earl, Michael, Sis, Brian, Richard, and Sandra, as well as 17 grandchildren— Corey, Steven, Kyle, Kenny, Robert, Chris, Tori, Seth, Scott, Jesse, Alexis, Geoffrey, Hayden, Maddie, Wiley, Tabitha and McKenzie —and 9 great-grandchildren—Bentley, Angelo, Hayden, Casey, Colt, Paisley, Chloee, Ako and Presley. Doris’s love for her family knew no bounds, and she treasured each and every moment spent with them.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her siblings: Donna, Jim, Ruth, Billy, and Tinky (Kenneth). Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends for a viewing on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with a service to follow at 12:00 PM at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113.
Rest in peace, Memaw. Your legacy of love, laughter, and strength will forever live on in the hearts of your family and friends.
