David William Ellis was the beloved husband of Laura Jeanette Ellis. He went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2022. David was born on August 10, 1953 in Baltimore, MD. David loved his parents, siblings, extended family and friends. David always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. He was a proud retired United States Navy veteran. After living on the West Coast for 40 years he decided to return to his roots in Maryland, settling in Glen Burnie, MD.
David was a people person and like being active, so he got a job at the Arundel Mills Costco in Hanover, MD. It was at Costco where he met his wife, Laura. He also volunteered at the USO at the Thurgood Marshall Baltimore Washington Airport. David loved music with his favorite recording artists are from Motown. He also loved the guitar playing and style of Jimmie Hendrix. David played the guitar, and enjoyed playing and being a part of the praise and worship team at Unlimited Faith Ministries in Baltimore, MD.
David loved sports and working out at the gym and swimming at Fort Meade where he met fellow retired veterans who became good friends. David and Laura enjoyed bowling on the base as well, but their greatest athletic pass time was walking through their former Country Club Glen Burnie neighborhood and biking on the Baltimore Annapolis bike trail. Their last bike ride was October 2021 where they completed 30 miles to raise money for the Maryland Food Bank.
David is now at peace and no longer in pain from cancer. His deep faith in God, positive attitude and his love for others has been a blessing to his widow Laura, his family, and friend, former coworkers, and everyone he knew. His life was one of giving and service and inspirational to all who knew him. He was a good a faithful servant of the Lord and is now in Glory with Him.
