On July 19, 2023, Brendon J. “BJ” Galvin passed away peacefully at home. Born in Manhattan, New York, he was a resident of Severn, Maryland, since 1983. He is predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Marline C. Galvin (nee Thomsen). Brendon is survived by his children, Teresa M. Bennett and Deirdre “Dee Dee” Antal (husband Brian); sisters Alana Gilkeson, Mary Magner, and Madeline Galvin; grandchildren Briana Antal, Reed Antal, and Brendan Bennett. He is also survived by his sisters-in law Lillian Halle and Lisa Thompson.
Brendon proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy for 30 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. After retirement, he worked for the National Security Agency for another 20 years before retiring again. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Fleet Reserve. He enjoyed gardening, supporting the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Ravens, as well as researching old friends. Most especially, he loved spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.
To honor his love of sports and the military, the family welcomes casual attire that reflects the New York Yankees or the U.S. Navy.
