On April 17, 2021, Anthony F. Palmieri of Odenton, previously of Bowie, went home to be with the Lord. He was 100. Born in Elmira, New York, Anthony proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force for 20 years. He was a WWII fighter pilot, having completed 113 missions. After retiring from the military, Anthony went on to pursue his passion and obtained his doctorate from University of Maryland in Philosophy to become an English Professor for George Mason University. In addition to being a published author, Anthony was also a very avid reader. He enjoyed traveling, dancing, and spending time with his family and friends.
Anthony was the devoted husband of 50 years to Mady Palmieri who passed in July of 2003; beloved father of Rory Palmieri and Gary Palmieri; cherished grandfather of Angel, Heather, Tony, Logan, Isabella, and Grace and great-grandfather of Alana and Sophia. He was predeceased by his brothers Joe Palmieri and Henry “Hank” Palmieri and his sister Clorinda Palmieri Rivette.
Interment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery with honors.
