On Saturday June 11, 2022, Alfred (Fred) Firmani, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 70 after a brief illness.
Fred was born on August 28, 1951 in Livorno, Italy to Joseph and Lea (Montelatici) Firmani who preceded him in death. He received his Political Science degree from Rutgers University in 1973, and a Master of Science degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the George Washington University. Fred was the successful CEO of the Phoenics Corporation. He is survived and married to Patricia (Molero-Harris) Firmani and together they raised their daughter Alessandra (married to Michael Firmani-Svennig).
He is survived by his brother Robert (Bob) Firmani, his wife Eve Marie (Tassallo) and their son Seth Joseph and Patricia’s sisters and their families: Juliana Harris-Gil, her husband Marco and their children, daughters Francesca and Maria and son Marco; Susana (Harris) Peyton and her husband Don and son Nash; Elizabeth Harris-Riding her husband Tony and daughter Adriana.
Fred had a passion for life in general. He loved Italy and had purchased a small villa in Tuscany and was planning to retire with his wife Patricia the summer of 2022. He was a man that succeeded in everything he had attempted. Avid musician, motorcycle enthusiast, audiophile, soccer player and fan of Serie A team INTER, show horse jumper and equestrian as well as a successful business owner. Fred could fix and maintain just about any man-made machine, had a deep understanding of technology and a keen eye for details. He was known for his quick wit, infectious smile and his kind and compassionate spirit.
Fred was a world traveler doing so for both pleasure and business but his heart was always in Italy, specifically, Livorno, the city of his birth.
As his passing was a shock to a large extended family, of which he was the patriarch, and a large contingent of friends, business partners and acquaintances around the world, Fred will be greatly missed by all that knew him and of him.
