William Edward Bowen, Sr. "Bill"

William Edward Bowen, Sr. “Bill” of York, PA, formerly of Frederick, MD passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at ManorCare Kingston Court in York, PA, at the age of 73.  Bill was born on December 22, 1942 in Washington, DC to the late Thomas Brockhurst Bowen, Sr. and Madelin Mae (Knaupp) Bowen Harbert.

Bill is survived by his three children, William E. Bowen, Jr. of Annapolis, MD, Katherine L. Mangum of York, PA and Robert D. Bowen and his wife, Cari of York, PA; five grandchildren, Andrew Mangum and his wife, Jenn, Ashley Mangum, Alexis, Carly and Talia Bowen; two great grandchildren, Fox and Madeline Mangum; brother, Thomas B. Bowen, Jr. and his wife, Ginny of Melbourne, FL and two nieces, Sandra Keough of Chicago, IL and Deborah Phillips of Emmitsburg, MD.  He was preceded in death by his former wife, Jean Marie Bowen.

The family will receive friends at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113 on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 2935 Kingston Road, York, PA 17402 on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Bill will be laid to rest next to his parents at Washington National Cemetery in Suitland, MD later this spring.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mental Health Association of Maryland, 1301 York Road, Suite 505, Lutherville, MD 21093 or at www.mhamd.org.
