Vimla Puri

Vimla Kumari Puri, aged 77, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024, in Arlington, VA. Born on August 14, 1947, Vimla dedicated 40 years to a commendable career as a registered nurse, a vocation through which she significantly altered her family's future upon moving to America.

Vimla was the heart of her family, known for her loving, kind, nurturing, and wise nature. She was a selfless and patient soul, always ready to give and deeply devoted to her faith. A regular at The Hindu Temple of Metropolitan Washington, she embodied the principles she cherished. Her hobbies included cooking, engaging actively in social groups, and cherishing moments with her friends and beloved children and grandchildren. Vimla's commitment to her community and family was evident in every aspect of her life. She is survived by her loving children, Roy Puri and his wife Shija, daughters Aarti Kumar with her husband Pankaj, and Monika Sukhmangal with her husband Joshua. Her cherished grandchildren, Emma, Hope, and Anjali, will miss her dearly. Vimla was preceded in death by her husband, Sat Pal Puri since 1997. The Donaldson Funeral Home in Odenton, MD, is handling the arrangements. Vimla’s life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, as she continues to inspire through her enduring love and faith.
