Tin Shue Chin of Odenton, MD, passed away on July 2, 2011 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, MD. He was 81.
Born on September 25, 1929 in Canton, China, Mr. Chin served in the Korean War and after an honorable discharge he worked for the Library of Congress as a Senior Collection Specialist.
Tin loved to cook, tell stories, and draw. While at the Library of Congress he created the Sherlock Searcher cartoon which appeared in the monthly library bulletin. He was a loyal man of high standards and strong moral fiber. Friends and family were extremely important to him.
Tin is survived by his beloved wife, Marie Chin of Odenton, MD; three daughters, Patricia Dutcher and her husband Donald of Annapolis, MD, Deborah Hale and her husband Leonard of LaPlata, MD and Denise Pugh and her husband Robert of Ashburn, VA; seven grandchildren, Michael, Andrew, Christopher, Cynthia, John, Amanda and Matthew; two great grandsons, Gabriel and Daniel and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tin Wah Chin and Tin Fook Chin and a sister, Suen Wang.
The family will receive friends at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113 on Thursday, July 7, 2011 from 2 to 4pm and 6-8pm. A Mass of a Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 9:00 am at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 1283 Odenton Road, Odenton, MD 21113. Interment services will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 1283 Odenton, MD 21113.
