Thomas “Tommy” Wilson Swick, age 25, passed away on November 2nd, 2024 following an automobile accident in Crofton, MD.
Thomas was born on April 8,1999 in Columbia, Maryland to his mother Carol Sylvis and his father Rob Swick. He grew up in Anne Arundel County and attended Crofton Elementary School, Crofton Middle School, and Arundel High School. As a child, Thomas enjoyed playing football for the Crofton Cardinals and spending quality time with his friends. Thomas played one season with the Arundel Wildcats football team and graduated from Arundel in 2017. Football remained a passion and hobby for Thomas, who loved attending Washington Commanders tailgates and games. Whether watching an NBA game on the weekends or enjoying a sunny afternoon crabbing on his stepfather’s boat in St. Mary’s, Thomas was happiest when surrounded by the family and friends he loved so much.
After high school, Thomas was proud to begin his career as an electrician’s apprentice with JS Global. In this role, he had the opportunity to upgrade and maintain significant facilities including the White House, the Capitol, Congressional buildings, and other important sites in our nation’s capital. Thomas was set to complete his internship this coming April to become a journeyman electrician. He was admired for his work ethic, professionalism, and good nature by all those who have worked with him.
Thomas loved to travel, most recently visiting Mexico and Japan. He collected Pokémon cards and could often be found battling with his friends. Thomas, his brothers, and his friends often connected by gaming online together. He was a fantastic cook, gifted in creating his own recipes. In each of these activities, Thomas found ways to make the people around him happier. Those lucky enough to know him will remember his laughter, kindness, and willingness to help others.
Thomas is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Aldean Wilson Royal. He is survived by: his father, Rob Swick; his mother, Carol Sylvis; his stepfather, Carl Sylvis; his brothers, Bradley Swick and Alexander Swick; his stepsiblings, Heather and Jason Sylvis; his maternal grandmother, Barbara Royal; his paternal grandparents, Richard and Gael Swick; and many other loving relatives.
The family will receive visitors on Saturday, November 9th from 11 AM to 1 PM with a service to follow at 1 PM at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. in Odenton, Maryland. Interment is private.
