Thomas "Tommy" Long, Jr. was born on May 20, 1970, in Cheverly, Maryland, to Thomas Long, Sr. and Loretta Long.
Tommy grew up in Prince George's County, Maryland, and attended High Point High School, where he made lifelong friendships and lasting memories. He was known for his warm smile, kind heart, and ability to make everyone around him feel welcome.
Following high school, Tommy built a dedicated career with Spectra Metals, where he worked faithfully for many years before retiring. He took great pride in his work and earned the respect of his coworkers through his strong work ethic, dependability, and quiet dedication.
Tommy was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Adrienne Long. He was a proud father to Ashley Long, Amere Dickinson, and Nia Felder, and there was no greater joy than spending time with his family. He especially cherished his beloved granddaughter, Kalexia Dickinson, who brought endless happiness to his life.
When Tommy wasn't spending time with his family, he could often be found cheering on his favorite team, the Washington Commanders, searching for the perfect candle while shopping, or relaxing at home with his beloved dachshunds, Willie and Frankie. Music was always close to his heart, and he especially enjoyed listening to Keith Sweat and the infectious rhythms of Go-Go music. Whether watching football on Sundays, enjoying a shopping trip, listening to his favorite songs, or simply being surrounded by the people and pets he loved most, Tommy found joy in life's simple moments. He had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel like they belonged. He treated everyone he met like family, welcoming friends, neighbors, and coworkers with genuine kindness, warmth, and compassion.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Adrienne Long; his children, Ashley Long, Amere Dickinson, and Nia Felder; his cherished granddaughter, Kalexia Dickinson; his parents, Thomas Long, Sr. and Loretta Long; and many extended family members, lifelong friends, and loved ones who will forever treasure his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Long, Sr. and Loretta Long.
Although Tommy's presence will be deeply missed, his love, laughter, and the countless memories he created will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
