Laurel

Thomas Creighton Clark, affectionately known as Tom or Tommy, age 82, of Laurel, Maryland, passed away on January 16, 2026, at home surrounded by family. Born on September 14, 1943, in Clarksville, Maryland, Tom lived a life rich with kindness, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to those he loved.

A true “Jack of All Trades,” Tom spent his career as a handyman at the Government Navy Yard, where he found joy in helping others with their projects. He was known for going out of his way to lend a hand, demonstrating a selfless spirit that endeared him to many. His keen expertise was complemented by a warm and welcoming personality that always made others feel at ease. Known for his great sense of humor, Tom was a lovable jokester who cherished the importance of doing things "his way," which, as those close to him would attest, was often the right way.

Throughout his life, Tom stayed committed to personal growth, earning several certifications in Electrical and HVAC. His knowledge was matched only by his passion for family and the great outdoors. He found peace and happiness while fishing, camping, and tending to his garden, always ensuring that his yard was a neat and beautiful reflection of his nurturing spirit.

Tom’s love for family was immeasurable. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 52 years, Dora Clark, and a proud father to his daughter, Lessia. He delighted in the company of his grandson Randal, as well as his cherished great-grandchildren: Carson, Trent, Cecilia, Domenica, Ally, Amelia, and Crystal. They brought joy and light into his life, and he relished every moment spent with them. Tom's heart brimmed with love for his family, making memories that will be treasured by generations to come.

Though he was often playfully referred to as the “Old Man,” a nod to his grouchy yet hardworking demeanor, those who knew him understood that it was a sign of his dedication and love for those around him. Tom had the remarkable ability to inspire others with his work ethic, infectious laughter, and generous spirit.

Tom will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Lorie, whose memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. The bonds he shared and the memories he created will continue to bring comfort and joy, echoing in the laughter of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
