Surrinder K. Chawla, a resident of Pikesville, MD, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. Surrinder was born on March 02, 1934 in Jhansi, India and was the daughter of the late Amrik S. Chawla and Maya Devi Chawla.
Her passion was in the kitchen, cooking up traditional Indian dishes that friends and family would come from all over to savor. She was a beloved mother of the Indian community and will be missed by all who knew her.
Surrinder is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Santokh S. Chawla of Pikesville, MD; four loving children, Kulwant K. Ahuja of Towson, MD, Harjit G. Chawla of Manassas, VA, Gurmeet S. Chawla of Ashburn, VA and Satvinder K. Elkins of Charleston, WV; eight cherished granddaughter, two wonderful grandsons and 3 adorable great grandchildrenc
The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
