Mr. Shermon Urquheart, 89 of Odenton, our beloved father , brother, uncle, cousin and friend was called to his eternal resting place October 23, 2010.
Shermon was born on May 24, 1921 in Southhampton County, Virginia to the late Alonzo and Eva Urquheart. He was married to the late Helen Long who preceded him. He also was preceded by his brothers Clifton, Lawrence, Melvin, Edgar, David and Jarries and his sister Adell.
Mr. Urquheart accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a very young age. He was a retired military veteran and served his country in World War II, Vietnam and the Korean wars.
Our precious Shermon will be sorely missed and remembered with great love. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted son Michael F. Urquheart of Odenton, MD., step daughter Clara Elaine Beatty and husband Mathew of Ft. Mill, SC., step son William Long and wife Shirley of Charlotte, NC., two precious granddaughters, the apple of his eye, Danyelle and Alexus, step grandchildren Connie, Cheryl, Latonya and Josetta and one sister Lois U. Thornton of Wakefield, VA. He was additionally survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Burial services will be held on Friday at 10:45 AM at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery of Crownsville, Crownsville, Maryland. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive by 10:30 AM at the cemetery.
