Sharon Ann (Vlahovich) Shields "Shari"

Sharon “Shari” Ann Shields of Odenton, MD, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at her residence, at the age of 75. Shari was born on April 4, 1942, in Washington, DC to the late Steve Vlahovich and Jeanne Bassingwaite Lash. Shari’s career was dedicated to public service.

She worked in constituent services for a half dozen U.S. Senators over a 38 year period. In the 1990’s Shari turned her lifelong passion for dogs into a second career when she began breeding and showing her beloved Pomeranians. She was known in the U.S. and Canada as a top Pomeranian breeder and was recognized as such by The American Pomeranian Club.

Shari is survived by her three grandchildren, Jason Brazerol and his wife, Cheryl, Stephanie Brazerol and Jacob Brazerol; four great-grandchildren, Justine, Jenna Rae, Jack and Julianna; and brother, Stjepan Vlahovich. In addition to her parents Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Ray Shields and her two daughters, Deborah J. Gore and Denise M. Brazerol.

Family and friends will gather at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113 on Saturday, January 13, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A celebration of Shari’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m.
