Sharon L. Malecki

Sharon L. Malecki passed away at the age of 70 after a lengthy hospitalization on January 5, 2021.  Sharon was the daughter of Robert and Alice Ashby and grew up in the Baltimore and Severn, Maryland areas. She was a 1968 graduate of Glen Burnie High School.

Sharon is survived by her husband, John Malecki,  their daughter, Jennifer Sheridan, and son-in-law, Sean Sheridan  She is also survived by her devoted granddaughter, Reagan Sheridan.

Sharon had a successful career working for the federal government.  She was very involved in her daughter’s school, Monsignor Slade Catholic School, where she was School Board Chair.  In retirement, she became an enthusiastic member of the Red Hat Society.  She had a network of Red Hat friends all over the country and loved to travel.  Her local chapter, The Ramblin’ Rosies, counted on her creativity to make their events special.  She designed costumes and props that were always attention grabbers.

A memorial service may be planned for a future date when it is safe to gather.  Anyone who wants to honor Sharon and recognize her passing may consider donations to St. Jude's Children's Research in her memory.
