Shalini Satish Shah

On April 17, 2023, Shalini Shah of Towson (and Mumbai, India) passed away at the University of Maryland Medical Center after developing Acute Respiratory Distress syndrome (ARDS) following a very brief unknown illness.

Beloved mother of Bansari Gujar, mother (in-law) of Sachin Gujar and doting grandmother of Aaditya (Aadi) Gujar. Daughter of the Late Mr. Vikram Majmudar and Late Mrs. Sarla Majmudar and wife of late Mr. Satish Naginlal Shah. Loving sister of the late Mrs. Raksha Thakkar and Mrs. Smita Munshi and Mrs. Arati Joshi.

Shalini was born in Amdavad, India and grew up in Mumbai India. She was amongst the few women Chartered Accountants at the start of her long and successful career in one of India’s premier banking institutions and to this day she is fondly remembered by her former colleagues and mentees.

Shalini was a beautiful woman inside and out. Her strength, resilience, determination, and calm leadership inspired many. She loved reading and was always surrounded by books. Music moved her and she could break out into dance at a moment’s notice.  She was incredibly  persistent and the hardest working person we know. Her love, her passion, her deep meaningful conversations over endless cups of masala tea and most of all her warmth and wisdom will be forever missed.
