Segun Falodun

September 8, 1953 — March 26, 2026

Newark, DE

Segun Falodun, a proud son of Akure Oloyemekun, Nigeria, passed away on March 26th, 2026. Born in Kaduna to James Akintomiwa Falodun and Morenike Falodun, Segun carried the strength, warmth, and cultural pride of his heritage throughout his life.

Segun was a man who lived with sincerity and conviction. Those who knew him admired his honesty—he spoke his mind without sugarcoating his feelings, yet always with a heart rooted in care. His friends cherished him for that rare blend of candor and loyalty.

A passionate soccer fan, Segun found joy in the rhythm of the game, and his love for music was a constant thread woven through his days. Whether cheering for his favorite team or losing himself in a beloved song, he embraced the things that brought him happiness with enthusiasm and authenticity.

Segun is survived by his two sons, Akintunde and Akinfolarin. He is also deeply mourned by his siblings: Dele Falodun, Mayowa Falodun, Funmilayo Adewole, and Akinwale Falodun. Their bond with him was enduring, and his absence leaves a profound void in their lives. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Erin and Makala as well as by his numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Segun’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and truth. He will be remembered for his vibrant personality, his unwavering honesty, and the joy he brought to those fortunate enough to know him on deeper levels. May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory continue to be a blessing to all who loved him.
