Sarah (Sally) Kassab Moore, 100 years young, originally of Philipsburg, PA, passed away in the early morning hours of June 11, 2022 peacefully in her sleep, having been visited by all her children in the hours prior.
She is survived by her son Daniel of Julian, PA, her daughter Patricia Moore Jonas and her son Michael, both of Hanover, MD, her brother Donald of State College, PA and her sister Geraldine of Pittsburgh, PA along with many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 66 years Harry, her brothers Ernie and Larry and her sisters Rose and Mary.
As a young girl in a small Pennsylvania town, she saw the first airplane to fly overhead and married its pilot. Together they lived an extremely full life as they traveled the world, living in many US states and also Guatemala before settling in College Park, Maryland for 44 year where they raised their 3 children. Over the years, she enjoyed her various bridge clubs, was a well-respected substitute teacher, worked at the White House under 4 Presidents over 25 years and was an important part of the College Park City Government. Eventually she moved with her husband to Odenton, Maryland, where they both enjoyed many years amongst new friends. The years following her husband’s death were spent living with her daughter and son-in-law Rudi in Hanover, MD. Some of her greatest pleasures were visiting with friends and family as often as she could along with watching the Washington Nationals (although they frustrated her lately) and University of Maryland Basketball.
