Russell Wayne Wimer

September 14, 1935 — March 12, 2016

On March 12, 2016, Russell Wayne Wimer passed away at Baltimore Washington Medical Center from COPD.  He was surrounded by his loving family.

Russell Wayne Wimer was born on September 14, 1935 to Russel F. Wimer and Lena (Bible) Wimer in Friends Run, WVa.  He graduated Franklin High School in 1953.  Upon graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and served his country for two years.  He was employed by Greyhound Lines Inc. until retiring in 1986.  After retirement, Mr. Wimer had his own lawn and landscaping business.

Mr. Wimer is survived by his loving wife, Helen (Haller) Wimer.  They were married on May 17, 1959.  He is also survived by his daughters, Cathy Joy of Selbyville, DE, and Kimberly Cahill and husband Douglas of Pasadena, MD.  He also has one granddaughter, Meagan Cherney and her husband, Drew, of Parkville, MD, and one grandson, Travis Cahill, of Crofton, MD.  He has one great granddaughter, Addison Grace Cherney, also of Parkville, MD.  Mr. Wimer has one surviving sister, Avanelle Judy, and a brother who is deceased, Stanley Wimer.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and spouses:  Joan (Sheldon) Bowers, Debbie (Stanley) Simmons, Steven (Kathy) Judy, Ed (Tammy) Judy, Tony (Connie) Wimer,  Tammy Astrin, Dawn(David) Warren, and Jeff Haller.  He also has many great nephews and nieces whom he loved.
