Listen to Obituary

Ruby L. Yuen was born on November 23, 1949, in Ladonia, Texas to Mr. Eddie Lee Adams and Mrs. Clemiel E. Adams who raised her with love, strength, and unwavering support. From a young age, she displayed a vibrant spirit, a kind heart, and a natural ability to bring joy to those around her.

Whether it was her infectious laughter, her caring nature, or her ability to turn any moment into a cherished memory, she was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She attended Clark High School and graduated from Fannindel High School. She attended Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins Texas where she excelled academically and built lifelong friendships. Afterwards she moved to Chicago, Illinois where she married Mr. Willam E. Pace. From this marriage Shaundra Deneen Pace was born. After the dissolution of this union, she later met and married Kai-Chek Yuen, and Kai Jo Yuen was born from this marriage.

Ruby later pursued a career in Civil Service with the U.S Government, where her dedication and passion left a lasting impact on colleagues and clients alike. She was deeply committed to her work, always striving to make a difference and leave a positive mark on the world. She always advocated for the rights of those who felt marginalized and unappreciated

Beyond her professional achievements, Ruby was a woman of many passions. She found joy in a lifetime of fitness and health activities. She enjoyed great success playing organized and competitive sports - excelling in basketball, softball and volleyball - while earning MVP for three consecutive years. She also enjoyed music, dancing, traveling, and spending quality time with her family. She was especially fond of the holidays because of the festive mood it brings. She was always eager to share her many talents with those around her. Whether she was teaching aerobics, power walking, giving tennis lessons, or exploring new destinations, she embraced every experience with enthusiasm and love.

More than anything, Ruby was devoted to her family and friends. She cherished her relationships and was a source of strength, laughter, and unwavering support to those who needed her. Her love for her parents, siblings, husband, children, granddaughter, and cousins knew no bounds, and she took great pride in being a loyal wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her husband, Kai-Chek Yuen, children, Shaundra D. Baskin, and Kai J. Yuen, granddaughter, Olivia M. Baskin, siblings: Michael L Adams, Sandra K. Massey, Gerald W. Adams, Eddie G. Adams, Debra J. Adams, Charles, D. Adams, and Robert L. Adams,, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
