Remembering Robin

Robin Lynn Thomas entered eternal rest on July 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith, unconditional love, quiet strength, and selfless service. Born on April 21, 1964, in Portsmouth, Virginia, Robin was the beloved daughter of Robert Lee Collier and Christine Roundtree. Raised in a Christian home, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and remained steadfast in her faith throughout her life. She found daily encouragement in her favorite scripture: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." - Philippians 4:13

Robin married the love of her life, Darryl Thomas, on November 22, 1987.

As a proud military wife, Robin embraced the opportunities and sacrifices that came with military life, traveling with her family before eventually settling in Maryland. They created a home filled with warmth, laughter, prayer, and countless cherished memories. Together they shared 34 wonderful years of marriage built on faith, commitment, and unconditional love until his passing in 2021.

A woman of remarkable resilience, Robin faced life's greatest challenges with extraordinary courage. After becoming medically disabled, she refused to let adversity define her. In 2003, while courageously undergoing chemotherapy, she returned to college and proudly earned her bachelor's degree. She went on to devote her career to social work, where her compassion, wisdom, and heart made a lasting difference in the lives of countless individuals and families.

Robin's greatest calling, however, was loving her family. She was a devoted wife, nurturing mother, proud grandmother, faithful sister, and loyal friend. Her home was a place of comfort, encouragement, prayer. She possessed a gentle spirit, a listening ear, and an open heart that welcomed everyone she met.

She also found joy in life's simple pleasures. Robin loved journaling her thoughts, expressing herself through poetry, spending afternoons playing bingo, and enjoying shopping trips with family and friends. Whether celebrating life's milestones or simply enjoying everyday moments, she made every gathering feel special.

Robin leaves to cherish her precious memory of her beloved daughters, LaKeisha Roundtree-Murray (Derrick Murray) and Kieyona Thomas. She was an immensely proud grandmother to Kyree Scott, Keynan Stewart, Keon Scott, Kaden Murray, and Kori Simpson, each of whom brought immeasurable joy, pride, and purpose to her life.

She is also survived by her loving siblings, Annette, David, JoAnn, Joseph, and Karen, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.

Robin was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Darryl Thomas; and her siblings, Anthony, Cornell, Donald, Floyd, Harold, Jacqueline, Jerry, and Youneko.

Although our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find peace in knowing Robin has been reunited with her beloved husband and now rests in the eternal presence of her Lord and Savior. Her life was a beautiful testimony of faith, perseverance, compassion, and grace. She taught us that strength is found through Christ, that education is never beyond reach, and that serving others is one of life's greatest callings. Her legacy will continue to live on through the family she cherished, the lives she touched, and the faith she faithfully lived.
