Robert Joseph Jenkins

Robert Joseph Jenkins, 74, of Annapolis, MD passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at his residence from lung cancer. He was born on March 7, 1939 in Baltimore to the late James Lee and Emily Mary Jenkins. He joined the U.S. Army Reserve in 1956 and U.S. Navy in 1958 from which he retired as a Senior Chief Radioman in 1977. He immediately started with the Washington DC Metro where he was ultimately promoted to the Senior Communications Engineer from which he retired in 2009 after 32 years. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Club, and Moose in Annapolis. He enjoyed boating, crabbing, fishing and deer hunting. Most especially, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Sharon "Shari" Jenkins; sister Lu Smith; and brother Lee "Bud" Jenkins. He is survived by his wife Janice Palko-Jenkins; son Robert Jenkins Jr. and his wife Alicia; step-children Chrissy Jameson and her husband Gerald, John Palko, and Janice Zook and her husband Eric; grandfather of Cole, Quinn, Clare, Logan, Cameron, Skylar, and Greg.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the family owned Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Neumann Church, 620 North Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Burtonsville, MD.
